- Founding and Early History
Origins (1955)
The Crusaders of the Divine Church of Christ Philippines Inc. (CDCCPI) was founded in 1955 by Mons. Dr. Rufino S. Magliba (affectionately called Apo Rufing or Apo Lakay). Registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC No. 010285), its spiritual roots trace back to Nibaliw West, San Fabian, Pangasinan—later renamed Nibaliw Magliba in 1996.
The Mysterious Life of Apo Rufing
- Birth & Early Years: Found as an infant under a rosal plant in Asingan, Pangasinan (1921), Apo Rufing displayed divine gifts from childhood, including healing and supernatural visions.
- Divine Calling: At age 17, he received a vision: “Be a Fisher of Men”—marking his transition from fisherman to spiritual leader. His first miracle: resurrecting a dead girl.
- Growth of the Church
Expansion Across the Philippines
By 1960, CDCCPI had 35 chapters in Pangasinan and spread to:
- Luzon: Tarlac (22 chapters), Nueva Ecija (24), Zambales (14), La Union/Benguet (12), Ilocos Norte (8), Cagayan (16), Isabela (42), Kalinga/Apayao (8).
- Visayas & Mindanao: Missionary work began in 1964, led by Rev. Fr. Romualdo N. Jerez. Notable events:
- 1969 Mindanao Mission: Apo Rufing triggered an earthquake (5.5 Richter) to prove divine power.
- Metro Manila: The Mutya ng Pasig Cathedral became the archdiocese headquarters.
- Palawan: Organized in 1985, now with 6 chapters.
Global Missions
- 1980s: First overseas missions to Hawaii, USA, later expanding to California, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, Italy, Canada, and Taiwan.
- Certifications:
- Hawaii (1984): Certificate of Qualification to preach.
- California (1993): Official recognition.

- Golden Rules:
“Love God with all thy heart, soul, strength, and all that ye have. Love your fellow man as yourself.”
- Apo Rufing as the Second Comforter: Believed to be the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, fulfilling biblical prophecy (John 14:16).
- Divine Healing: Miracles include curing incurable diseases, extracting teeth barehanded, and resurrecting the dead.
- The Central Temple
Located in Nibaliw Magliba, Pangasinan, the CDCCPI Central Temple features:
- Symbolic Architecture:
- Double Cross (Patriarchal Cross): Represents divine authority.
- Crowned Altar Dome: Signifies triumph over Armageddon.
- Three Flagpoles:
- White Flag of Peace (highest).
- CDCCPI Flag.
- Philippine Flag (symbolizing the Philippines as the New Jerusalem).
- Legacy and Modern Presence
- Membership: Over 1 million devotees worldwide.
- Recognition:
- 1963: Awarded Most Outstanding Rural Preacher in Luzon.
- Global Chapters: Active congregations in 10+ countries.
- Future Vision: CDCCPI is prophesied to become the Universal Faith.
